Oshkosh is Well Underway…
Well, with Oshkosh about halfway through, we have some frequently asked questions to answer, and tons of interest at the booth!
For starters, we have had an overwhelming number of people showing up and asking questions, and we are so excited about it. Never in a million years did we think so many people would be interested in our little engine monitor.
Thank you all so much for the support and kind words. If you are one of the people who has stopped by to say something, please know that it truly means the world to us.
Now, on to the FAQs!
How does it all work?
Draco takes in all of the engine sensor data you’d expect, along with a few extras. It then transmits that data to two different partner apps in a couple of different ways.
Levil Aviation’s iLevil receives the data through a single RS-232 data line. The iLevil then transmits that data over Wi-Fi to any Apple device with its app installed, giving you our engine data alongside all of Levil’s features in one app. You can find them in Hangar C, booth 3075.
iFly EFB receives the data we send over Wi-Fi and displays it in its app, which is available on both Android and iOS. They also offer a tablet that can be permanently mounted in the aircraft if you are looking for a more integrated solution. You can find them in Hangar C, booth 3052.
How much does all of this cost?
Draco by itself is priced at $1,200 through August 14, 2026. After that, it will have a list price of $1,500.
If you need sensors to go along with Draco, we have package deals available on the website. The short version is that a four-cylinder sensor kit with a Draco unit starts at $3,500.
This kit includes everything you would typically need, with additional, more specialized sensors also available.
A six-cylinder kit is available in the same configuration as the four-cylinder kit, just with the additional EGT and CHT sensors needed for the extra cylinders. The six-cylinder kit starts at $3,800 during the show special.

We are also considering changing the website to allow for more of a choose-your-own-adventure approach when selecting sensors, so you don’t have to buy something you won’t use. We’d love to hear what you all think about that.
Do you have your own fixed display?
Not currently, but development is well underway. We aren’t far enough along yet to say much more or show it off, but keep an eye on this newsletter to find out when it’s on the way.
Experimental only? I only fly certified. When will it be certified?
Well, whenever the FAA decides we can be part of the cool kids’ club.
The more serious answer is that we just don’t know yet. We have goals, but we are new to this process, and we are sure there will be a learning curve.
Our current plan is to pursue certification as a non-primary instrument so Draco can be installed in certified aircraft while the aircraft retains its existing primary instrumentation. After that, we plan to begin the full primary certification process.
What about manuals and documentation? What will that look like?
While they are not yet available, we will have wiring diagrams, installation manuals, parts breakdowns, and the works. We are actively working on all of it, even putting in time between booth visitors!
